“The best food related pop/rock performer I've heard this week. It makes me hungry.”
Michael Grant
BIO
James Ure is a multi-talented musician hailing from Scarborough, North Yorkshire. With both of his Grandparents being professional trombonists, Ure was persuaded into music from a very early age and has experience playing a multitude of instruments, from ukulele to sousaphone.
While studying the obscure (much like Ure himself) masters study in contemporary tuba performance at the University of Huddersfield, Ure procrastinated by writing a concept album all about food & drink which he is currently recording with 'the Fridge Doors'.
James Ure refers to and views everyone he meets as a fridge door. Just like the contents of the box of Schrödinger's cat, there is an unknown element of a fridge door until you open it. Sometimes you find a lovely lemon meringue pie which you can't wait to eat. Sometimes you find a forgotten about, rotting, lonely plum. The possibilities are endless. People are like that. (The fridge magnets are the faces).
Check out his first two singles 'Red Stripe, Red Stripe, Why Won't You Be My Wife?' and 'TV Dinner'. The album 'Banquet' is coming soon.
